A skill for informed LinkedIn work
How to install LinkedIn Best Practices Guide, use it with drafts and keep it up to date in your agent.
What it brings to your work
LinkedIn Best Practices Guide is an instruction folder your agent can consult when planning, drafting or reviewing organic content. It includes guidance on authorship, formats, links and measurement, alongside a dated research reference.
It is intended for people managing company Pages or professional profiles who already use agents supporting Agent Skills. It does not need access to your LinkedIn account to review a draft. You provide the brand context, experience and real results.
Installation
With Node.js and npm available, open a terminal in the project where you want to use it and run the command below. The installer lets you choose a compatible agent and the installation scope.
To use it across projects, add -g to the command. You can limit the agent with --agent codex or --agent claude-code. Check the installer’s current options before configuring a different environment.

Draft review: “Use linkedin-best-practices-guide to review this post. Our audience is marketing leaders and we want qualified conversation. Preserve my voice and explain the changes.”
Editorial planning: “Suggest a four-week calendar on these topics. Distinguish what the company would publish from what the expert would contribute. We have capacity for two posts per week.”
Reading results: “Compare these posts against their objectives. Check that engagement rates use the same interactions and denominators. Identify missing information.”
The skill helps ground decisions. It does not guarantee reach or conversions, or authorise publication on your behalf. Review the outcome and sources before sharing.
Keeping it up to date
The first public version is 1.0.0. Its documentary reference is dated 29 September 2026 and should be read as a specific edition. When you need a current answer, ask the agent to verify the sources of claims that may have changed.
If you installed it with the skills CLI, check for new versions with npx skills update. Before updating a customised copy, preserve your modifications. Public versions and their changes are available on GitHub.
You can report an error or propose improvements through repository issues. The MIT licence permits reuse and adaptation provided the copyright and licence are retained.
